Wire bonder with head, tool, bonding wire guide and cutting device. Wire bonder has camera (101,103) with switchable picture manipulation device (123) to take pictures of the workpiece being worked. Said device has a means to store base data i.e. pictures of the bonding tool and/or wire guide and reference points of these components. When operated, it uses blending control (131) and blending means (113,115) on one hand with the picture manipulation device connected to a comparison means (125,127,129) on the other to determine and alter any significatnt deviation between the positions of actual and base data i.e. pictures and emit warning signal.
