PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device having increased light quantity correction accuracy by correcting a light quantity according to a change in light source characteristic in real time.;SOLUTION: The light source device includes: a light source; and a driving signal generating means of supplying a driving signal to the light source, and also includes: a light quantity measuring means of measuring the light quantity of the light source; and a light quantity correcting means which calculates as a light quantity error a difference between a target light quantity corresponding to a gray-scale value indicated by gray-scale data input from the outside and a light quantity measured by the light quantity measuring means, corrects differential efficiency which is defined as an amount of variation in light quantity with respect to the amount of variation in the driving signal of the light source by an integral value of a product of the light quantity error and gray-scale value and also corrects a threshold value of the driving signal minimum-required to make the light source emit the light by an integral value of the light quantity error, and outputs to the driving signal generating means a command signal for generating the driving signal having the differential efficiency and the threshold which have been corrected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
