A safety device used together with a push-push type latch device which can, when pushed against urging force, engage a movable body with a main body at a fixed position thereof and which can release the engagement by the next push operation. The safety device has a circulation cam groove formed in either the main body or the movable body and having a reciprocation groove and an engagement groove, and the safety device also has a responding member provided to the other and having a pin tracing the circulation cam groove. When the responding member is subjected to a load such as an impact, the pin irreversibly moves from the reciprocation groove of the circulation cam groove to the engagement groove and retains the movable body at the fixed position even if the latch device is released from the engagement by a load such as an impact.
