A stomate-increasing agent comprising a compound capable of increasing the number and/or density of stomates in a plant; a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:6, or a variant of the polypeptide; and a method for increasing the number and/or density of stomates in a plant and a method for increasing the yield of a plant, both of which utilize the stomata-increasing agent or the polypeptide.
