The cartridge (1) has holding units (5) arranged at discrete location of a bottom (3), vertically protruding from the bottom and holding a photovoltaic wafer and/or cell stack. The holding units are designed as side walls (7, 9) with front side walls (11, 13) and rear side walls (15, 17), where recesses (19) are provided at discrete locations in the walls. A lid closes the bottom. The bottom, the holding units and/or the lid is made of plastic i.e. expanded polystyrene. A closure unit closeably and/or openably secures the lid at the bottom and/or the holding units. An independent claim is also included for a magazine comprising a base body.
