Fluid-dynamic bearing system for spindle motor that is utilized for driving hard disk drive, has bearing components comprising wear-resistant surfaces that are provided with hardened surface coating
The system has rotary bearing components e.g. shaft (12), a hub (40) and a stopper ring/push plate (26), rotatably supported relative to stationary bearing components i.e. bearing bush (10), around a rotation axis (16). The components comprise bearing surfaces that mutually face each other and form fluid dynamic radial and thrust bearings in a region of a bearing gap (14) formed between two opposing faces of the components. The components comprise wear-resistant surfaces adjacent to the bearing surfaces. The wear-resistant surfaces are provided with a hardened surface coating. The hardened surface coating of the wear surfaces is a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating or nickel coating. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a spindle motor comprising a base board (2) a hard disk drive comprising a reading device (3) a fan comprising an electro motor drive system.
