PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost device for detecting a load state which precisely detects the load state of a transformer. PSOLUTION: The device for detecting the load state of the transformer has an input winding for receiving power from a first power line, and an output winding for supplying power to a second power line. This device comprises: a current detecting part that detects a current flowing through the output winding; a current calculation part that calculates the current flowing through the input winding based on the current detected by the current detecting part, and a winding ratio of the input winding to the output winding; and a load state detecting part that detects the load state of the transformer based on the current detected by the current detecting part and the current calculated by the current calculation part.
