The optoelectronic component (100) has a semiconductor chip (50) that is provided with a substrate (3) having two opposite major surfaces (11,12). A bonding surface (30) is extended transversely to the major surfaces. The semiconductor layer sequences (10,20) are respectively formed on the major surfaces of the substrate. Each semiconductor layer sequence is provided with an active layer (6) to generate electromagnetic radiation (4). The semiconductor chip is electrically contacted over the terminal carrier (5).
