The method involves providing data of flywheel torque (Cvolant) to a force assistance device by an angular torsion. A torsion angle of a torque sensor is estimated from the data of flywheel torque, and a value of addition angle to be applied is adjusted to partially compensate for the torsion angle, where the flywheel torque is measured by a force sensor of the force assistance device. The data of flywheel torque is transmitted to an active steering system, which estimates the torsion angle by dividing the flywheel torque by angular flexibility of the force sensor. An independent claim is also included for a car.
