PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-vitro method capable of detecting hepatitis C by detecting hepatitis C virus (HCV) core protein and an antibody (core-resistant antibody) against the HCV core protein by a single assay, and to provide a diagnostic kit for performing a process for selecting a captured peptide and a monoclonal antibody suitable for use in the in-vitro method and a combination method.;SOLUTION: By using short peptides (each peptide has an amino acid sequence corresponding to an immunodominant region of a native core protein, but not completely includes an epitope with which an antibody to be used for the method is connected), cross-reactivity is excluded in the method.
