PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for a writing utensil which can hardly cause the finger to slip off its grip and can secure strength, and furthermore, can stably grip an article by a clip, and the writing utensil. PSOLUTION: The cap for the writing utensil comprises a cylindrical cap body formed of an elastic material which can protect a pen chip with a fitting hole 3c formed at the side surface of the cap body 3, and a clip member 2 having a base 4 and an insertion part 5 formed at the outer side surface of the base 4. In addition, the clip member 2 is installed to the cap body 3 in such a way that the base 4 can receive the apex of the writing utensil, and the insertion part 5 can extend to the outside of the cap body 3 through the fitting hole 3c.
