Disclosed is a method for producing tofu using tropical fruit by using tamarind, one type of tropical fruits, as a coagulant, without use of chemical coagulants. More specifically, provided is a method for producing tofu using tropical fruit, comprising the following steps: (a) aging tamarind under the shade at a room temperature for 5-20 days; (b) separating flesh and peel of the aged tamarind and then grinding the peel; (c) putting the flesh of tamarind and ground peel into a porous pocket, and then extracting the same with heat so as to produce a tamarind extract; (d) mixing the tamarind extract prepared in the step (c) along with soybean milk prepared in advance, hardening the same, and then separating the hardened tofu and residual liquid; and (e) packaging the hardened tofu.
