The present invention relates to a device for driving an artificial muscle module which can quicken responsiveness of an artificial muscle module while realizing flexible movement of the artificial muscle module according to a temperature of a fluid filled in the artificial muscle module, and can enhance energy efficiency compared to conventional technologies; and to a method for driving an artificial muscle module. To this end, the device for driving an artificial muscle module comprises: a fluid tank unit including a high-temperature water tank and a low-temperature water tank; a fluid supply line and a fluid recovery line that connect the artificial muscle module with the fluid tank unit; a circulation pump unit for circulating a fluid between the artificial muscle module and the fluid tank unit; a temperature regulation unit for forming a fluid having a predetermined operating temperature for deforming the shape of the artificial muscle module by using the fluid discharged from the high-temperature water tank and the fluid discharged from the low-temperature water tank; and a fluid distribution unit for distributing the fluid of the fluid recovery line to the high-temperature water tank or the low temperature water tank according to predetermined distribution conditions.
