The crash box has a hollow portion that is provided with compressible portion (10) in the longitudinal to adjoin an anchoring section (11). The compressible portion in a boundary portion (21) has larger dimension (D) than the anchoring portion in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. The border portion with the anchoring section is connected to an inner side of a crash box projecting recess (22). The depth of the projecting recess is greater than the wall thickness of the crash box. An independent claim is included for a frame structure of motor vehicle.
