Packaging system (10), comprising: a selection and grouping area (42) that has a primary selector (63) to form an initial group of product (11A) inside a section (66) of a conveyor of selection of the product (67) that moves along a path, and a secondary selector (85) to select and direct an additional product or a series of products (11B) until it is coupled with the initial group (11A) of products to forming a product package (11) in the section (66); a first loading assembly (92) having a movable loading arm (91) for engaging the product package (11) from a first side and directing the product package (11) toward a carton (C), and a second loading assembly (106) having a loading arm (109) for engaging the product package (11) from a second side, a folding zone (44) adapted to engage and folding a series of end flaps (26 ) of the cardboard box (C) to a closed position, characterized in that the product package (11) is trapped between the loading arms (91, 109) of the first and second loading assemblies (92, 106), in which the loading arms (91, 109) are displaced following the path so as to move each product package (11) trapped between them to a loading position inside the cardboard box (C).
