The present invention relates to a premix composition for making an instant rice cake and a method for making an instant rice cake by using the premix composition. The premix composition for making an instant rice cake comprises 100 parts by weight of puffed rice powder, 50-70 parts by weight of starch, 5-10 parts by weight of skimmed milk powder, 30-50 parts by weight of powdered fat and oil, 5-10 parts by weight of a thickener, 1-3 parts by weight of salt, and 30-45 parts by weight of sugar. The present invention is provided to offer the premix composition for making an instant rice cake without separate heating cooking or microwave cooking such that the rice cake with excellent mouthfeel and flavor can be made at home.
