The present invention relates to an anticancer activity of a Cnidium officinale extract. The Cnidium officinale extract increases a yield of active oxygen in cells by increasing the expression ratio of cleaved-PARP and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), thereby inducing apoptosis by endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Therefore, it is possible to be usefully used for preventing or treating cancer.
