One embodiment of the present invention relates to a composite which comprises: a support including silicon carbide; and a carbon nanofiber layer formed on a surface of the support, wherein a carbon nanafiber is chemically bonded to the silicon carbide, and to a method for fabricating the same. According to the present invention, the carbon nanofiber can be grown uniformly on a surface of silicon carbide during a process of converting a silicon carbide precursor into the silicon carbide, such that it is not necessary to separately implement a high-cost process for growth of the carbon nanofiber, thereby remarkably improving process efficiency and cost effectiveness. In addition, the composite formed according to the present invention includes the carbon nanofiber firmly bonded to the silicon carbide support through chemical bonding, thereby improving surface adhesion thereof, and thus, it is possible to significantly improve various physical properties required in various application fields.
