摘要

The purpose of this study is to clarify the influences of a basic fitness training upon physical fitness in basketball players of a junior high school. Thirty six second-grade boys volunteered to be subjects in this study. All of the subjects were divided into two groups : an exercise and a control groups. Twenty nine exercise group boys regularly perfotmed a basic fitness training mainly consisted of muscular and endurance activities. Muscular training to improve abdominal, back, chest and leg muscles, interval running and running up and down the stairs were applied as a main training program. Stretch and flexibility exercises were also performed. All of the exercise activities were not forced to perform, but one of the researchers lead and supervised subjects to perform actively and safely with joy and pleasure. The training was done four or five days a week for a month. The seven control group boys did not perform any additional physical activity for the experiment period. Variables determined in this study were grip strength, back strength, Sargent jump, prone trunk extension and side step and Harvard step tests. All of the variables were determined before and after the basic fitness training. This study found the significant improvement in muscular strength, muscular power, agility and cardiorespiratory endurance due to the basic fitness training.
