In this paper, the selected principles and methodology for the constitution of a data base, at present in way of elaboration, about the sensitivity of coastal barrier-wetland systems, in case of a sea-level rise are describded. This data base has two aims inscribed in a wider research about "the impact of greenhouse increasing climatic changes on coastal environments ". — A help for the selection of sites to be studied in details. — Establishment of a Potential Sensitivity Index. The documentary source used is the easily accessible 1:25000 "Institut Géographique National" topographic map, wich gives harmonised geographical informations for the whole French territory. After having carried out tests on the vulnerability of proposed enterions, we obtain moderate incertainty margins. Moreover, this data allows the production of statistics about French coast barrier-wetland systems geographical characteristics.
