摘要

This project is about the danish high school and the students attending it. The project is based on an internship as an educator in Social Science at a danish highschool. During the internship, a lot of classes were observed, and questions began to form. Questions like: Why are there so much noise? How does the students benefit from their education and how do they make meaning of it all, in this day and age. Based on the teachings of the critical hermeneutics, and the thoughts of Thomas Ziehe, Knud Illeris and others, I try to answer some of these questions, and many more. Some of my findings are as follows: The students in today’s high school, are not entirely fit to prioritize on their own. They have a lot of options, both social and academic, and they find it hard to separate those from each other. They blame themselves in times of stress and pressure and they are highly motivated by grades, and not so much by learning.
