Approximating the Sphere by a Minkowski Sum of Segments with Equal Length

A zonotope in R(sup n) is defined to be the Minkowski sum of segments in R(supn). We deal here with the problem of approximating the Euclidean ball B(sub N) by zonotopes with as few as possible summands N.
