Immune Function Test Batteries for Use in Environmental Health Field Studies

A workshop was covered in June, 1992, in Atlanta to assist the Agency for ToxicSubstances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) in refining standardized immune test batteries for use in environmental health field studies. The workshop was cosponsored by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The immune system is a very important and sensitive indicator of toxic effects of xenobiotic substances. Upon reviewing the reports of the workgroups, ATSDR has adopted the basic immune test battery and focused tests of immune function for use in environmental health field studies.
