This paper focuses on the effective properties of bi-anisotropic mixtures. Theeffective material parameter of mixtures are derived which consist of spherical arbitrarily bi-anisotropic inclusions in isotropic host medium. The parameters of the inclusions can have the full range of 36 components. Six-vector notation is used to derive the expression but the final results are presented also in separate dyadic component form. The inclusions are allowed to have an arbitrary orientation distribution. The special cases of aligned and random orientations are given special emphasis. Numercial examples are calculated for two mixtures where inclusions are made of either aligned chiral or omega spheres. (Copyright (c) 1995 by Helsinki University of Technology.)
