Effective Medium Formulas for Bi-Anisotropic Mixtures

This paper deals with mixtures of bi-anisotropic media. The mixtures are assumedto consist of bi-anisotropic background medium where bi-anisotropic, spherical, electrically small inclusions are embedded. A general formula is presented with which one is able to calculate the effective material parameters of the inclusions and their volume fraction. This formula is general in the sense that it gives the Maxwell Garnett, Bruggeman, and Coherent Potential rules as special cases. Numerical results are given for chiral and bi-isotropic mixtures.
