摘要

In situ external reflection FTIR spectroscopy has been used in studies of (1) theelectrochemistry of ethyl xanthate, a collector used in the flotation of sulphide minerals, on silver and copper electrodes and (2) the synthesis and redox behavior of poly(thiophene-3-methanol) (PTM) films on platinum electrodes in acetonitrile. An essential part of this work has been the construction and modeling of a spectroelectrochemical flow-through thin-layer cell with radial liquid flow for these measurements. The convective diffusion equation for this cell geometry was solved numerically under limiting current conditions. The calculated results were tested using the ferro-ferricyanide redox system.
