摘要

The University of Minnesota National Long-Term Care (LTC) Resource Center was established in October 1993 as a partnership of the Institute for Health Services Research at the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health and the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHIP), located in Portland, Maine. Dedicated to facilitating responsive, inventive, and effective approaches to LTC, the Center's mission was to promote effective long-term care decision-making be persons seeking LTC and their families; LTC professional practitioners; and LTC program administrators, planners, and policy-makers. Realizing that this was an ambitious mission, the Center chose to focus its projects in three general areas of LTC. These three foci were: ethics and decision-making in LTC; case management and assessment; and linkages between LTC and other health and social services.
