National Long-Term Care DECISIONS Resource Center. Final Report and Project Brief

The general mission of the Long-Term Care DECISIONS Resource Center (LDRC) was toact as a resource to State Units on Aging (SUAs), Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), and the aging network in their efforts to improve long-term care decision making of professionals and of long-term care consumers. The Center's functions were technical assistance, training, R&D, and information dissemination. Its focal areas included: assessment, case management, links between acute care and long-term care, preferences of older people, decision environments, and ethics. The report finds the relationships established between the National Long-Term Care DECISIONS Resource Center and the aging network were productive and mutually beneficial. While the SUAs and AAAs gained from the experience and expertise of the Center, the Center gained insight into the practical concerns and issues that the network faced. In addition, the Center acted as a conduit for uniting SUAs and AAAs with other sources of information and assistance.
