Meeting the Customer's Needs for Mobility and Safety during Construction and211 Maintenance Operations

Work zone delay and safety clearly fit into three of FHWA's five strategic goals:211u001esafety, mobility, and productivity. For the FHWA to achieve our strategic goals 211u001eand objectives, it will have to assume a proactive leadership role in promoting 211u001ework zone traffic management techniques, engaging all of the stakeholders in a 211u001ecomprehensive cooperative effort, creating new partnerships for work zone 211u001eeducation, and dedicating the resources needed to develop and/or enhance the 211u001etools needed by the State and local transportation agencies to achieve the state-211u001eof-the-art.
