The Minerals Management Service funded the Louisiana-Texas Shelf Physical211u001eOceanography Program (LATEX). Study Unit A of LATEX, the Texas-Louisiana Shelf 211u001eCirculation and Transport Processes Study, was conducted by the Teas A&M 211u001eUniversity System from 1 October 1991 thorugh 30 September 1998, with field 211u001eoperations undertaken during the period April 1992 through December 1995. During 211u001efield operations, data were collected from current meters, meteorological buoys, 211u001edrifting buoys, and hydrographic and Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler surveys 211u001eover the continental shelf off Texas and Louisiana. Historical and current data 211u001efrom other programs in the region were collected. This report includes data 211u001eproducts prepared by the LATEX study unit(s) and presents a new synthesis of 211u001eshelf circulation.
