摘要

The purpose for this work is to evaluate a method for automatic targetclassification using data from a laser radar (ladar). The platform carrying the ladar is airborne. The targets are ground based and can be positioned anywhere within reach of the ladar i.e. not only directly below. This chapter will give the background of the work and also an outline of the thesis.
