摘要

This paper presents a study of walleye movement and locations around Lake Mendozafor two years to determine if patterns existed. Walleyes are equipped with radio transmitters in 1989 and 1990, and monitored movements between April and October in 1989 and April 1989 to August in 1990. The highest average daily movement (0.74 kilometer per day) occurred during April. Distance movements were inversely related to water temperature. Neither gender nor size of fish was related to movements. Three basic movement patterns were observed through summer (May to August): 40% of the walleye used one specific activity area, another 40% of the walleye used two activity areas, and the remaining 20% of the walleye appeared to be nomadic. Walleye were only observed in water less than 9 meters deep. Throughout most of the spring and summer, adult walleye in Lake Mendoza appear to remain within littoral areas and do not inhabit the pelagic zone.
