Existence of a Maximal Partial Spread of Size 76 in PG (3,9)

Maximal partial spreads in PG(3, q), q odd, are considered. A point, not covered by any of the lines of a maximal partial spread is said to be a hole. The set of holes H has to satisfy certain necessary conditions. For some values of the parameters q and δ, where δ denotes the deficiency of the maximal partial spread, it has been possible to show that a set of holes satisfying these conditions never can exist and hence, that the corresponding maximal partial spread does not exist.
