摘要

Drawing attention to the numerous aspects of gender inequality that limit womens full participation in productive activities, this paper investigates the unique position of women within the economy. It explores why the inclusion of gender issues is not only beneficial, but also crucial to the success of economic development programs. Through examining the domains of economic development and trade liberalization, the paper emphasizes that integrating gender considerations leads to a greater understanding of the impediments that hinder womens full participation in the economy. This recognition enables the creation of more targeted assistance programs to address those hindrances; thereby creating an environment for better policy response.
