摘要

The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, Audit Division, has completed an audit of compliance with standards governing Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) activities at the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory (Laboratory). The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) CODIS provides an investigative tool to federal, state, and local crime laboratories in the United States using forensic science and computer technology. The CODIS program allows these laboratories to compare and match DNA profiles electronically, thereby assisting law enforcement in solving crimes and identifying missing or unidentified persons. The FBIs CODIS Unit manages CODIS and is responsible for its use in fostering the exchange and comparison of forensic DNA evidence.
