摘要

This report provides the results of a study to measure the amount of Federal income and business taxes paid by food processors, wholesalers, retailers, and eating and drinking places in the marketing of domestic farm food products. Such firms paid about $3.5 billion in taxes in 1967. Federal income tax accounted for 40 percent of the total and business taxes for 60 percent. Total taxes paid by these food marketing firms increased 66 percent from 1957-59 to 1967. In 1967, processors paid 48 percent of the taxes paid by food marketing firms. Wholesalers paid 9 percent, retailers 23 percent, and eating and drinking places 19 percent.
