摘要

The report identifies and analyzes potentially effective ways in which the Executive Branch of the Oklahoma State Government could use science, engineering, and technology (SET) in its policy formulation process. Recommendations for the Governor as to an appropriate mechanism for the provision of such information on a continuing basis are developed. The study comprises: a survey of issues and needs of state policy makers for SET information; a survey of SET resource personnel in Oklahoma; and development of policy and structure for an appropriate SET advisory program. The latter includes analyses of survey results and investigation of potential organizational formats and bases. Extensive screening and evaluations have resulted in the final recommendation that the proposed program be located in the State of Oklahoma Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
