The report dealing with product and chemical tanker markets, technology and economics is the result of a two phase project. Phase I involved research into relevant subject areas that are documented in this report and its supplements. Phase II involved contact and discussion with members of industries utilizing these ships -- chemical companies, oil companies, shipping companies, etc. This contact included briefings, review of written material and discussions as a means to create interest in U.S. constructed and operated product and chemical ships as well as to receive comment from industry planners regarding their opinions on subjects covered.
