摘要

The general objective of the research described in the thesis is to furtherassess the potential of sulfurized lipids as molecular indicators of palaeoenvironmental conditions. In order to meet the objective a better knowledge of the mechanisms and the types of reactive inorganic sulfur species involved in the natural sulfurization reactions and the timing of these reactions is a prerequisite. Therefore, sulfurized lipids present in several very immature sediments and crude oils have been identified. Recent sediments have been selected for study in order to minimize the possible transformations of sulfurized lipids induced by increasing thermal maturity due to burial of the sediment in the subsurface. The identifications were performed by means of gas chromatography with sulfur selective flame photometric detection, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, chemical degradation methods (Raney Ni
