摘要

It is demonstrated that approximation ideas conceived for the design of multivariable feedback systems based on approximate plant models carry over to the design of Smith control schemes in the presence of mismatch. The approaches are very similar in structure, being based upon systematic use of plant step data obtained from plant tests or model simulations and producing both graphical frequency domain and simulation-based time-domain methods of off-line computer aided design. Stability and performance degradation can be analyzed and it is not necessary to obtain a detailed plant model to apply the results, provided that plant step data can be obtained or synthesized.
