SHOCK INITIATION AND DETONATION MODELS IN ONE AND TWO DIMENSIONS

A model for shock initiation and detonation of high explosives is presented. It has been implemented in one- and two-dimensional computer programs, KOVEC and Vector HEMP, respectively. The theory and implementation of the model is discussed along with a description of its use. Applications of the model to two explosives, PBX-9404 and RX-03-BB, are presented.
