Test Report -Corner Assembly for Modular Container.

摘要

The report contains a description of the testing and results of simulated corner assemblies. These assemblies represent a portion of the cargo container design. A tension test to ultimate design load was performed to verify the integrity of the cast stainless steel castings. The castings proved capable of sustaining loads beyond requirements and therefore no major modifications can be recommended. A compression test with its goal to the ultimate design load was performed to verify the column design. The column indicated torsional instability at 86% of the ultimate design load and the test was terminated at this point. A minimal design effort can easily bring the column strength up to load requirements. (Modified author abstract)
