摘要

A rapid and sensitive method for discrimination of biological material has been developed based upon the time-rate chemiluminescence reaction of peroxide and luminol. The heme content of the biological sample acts as a catalyst. Chemiluminescent intensity is measured using a photomultiplier tube and the resulting voltage produces curves of light intensity versus reaction time which are characteristic for different biological materials. A scoring system for the time-rate intensity response curve has been developed. Using this scoring system,bacteria can be separated into gram-positive,gram-negative,and viral groups which can in turn be separated from various ionic materials. Temperature influences the reaction rate and light intensity.
