The Development and Evaluation of Objective Frequency Domain Based Pilot Performance Measures in ASUPT.

To realize its full research potential a need exists for the development of an automated objective pilot performance evaluation system for use in the Advanced Simulator for Undergraduate Pilot Training (ASUPT) facility. The present report documents the approach taken for the development of frequency domain pilot control movement based measures and presents data collected from an evaluation study. The results indicate that frequency domain based measures of a pilot's control movements do discriminate between pilot experience levels. These finds are encouraging and demonstrate the potential of this approach for developing an automated objective pilot performance measurement system. (Author)
