Updated Economic Analysis of the Tri-Service Patient Appointment and Scheduling System (TRIPAS)

The Tri-Service Patient Appointment and Scheduling (TRIPAS) system is an automated information system designed to support the functions of patient appointment and scheduling operations in Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs). To date, under contract with the Tri-Services Medical Information Systems (TRIMIS) Program Office (TPO), TRIPAS systems have been installed in seven MTFs and five more are being considered for procurement. This report presents the methodology employed in and the results of an Updated Economic Analysis of the TRIPAS system in the five remaining candidate sites. The remainder of this chapter describes the overall scope of an approach to the economic analysis. Chapters II and III present methodologies used in estimating total lifecycle benefits and costs, respectively, and the results obtained. Chapter IV discusses the findings regarding lifecycle benefits and costs of the TRIPAS System. In Chapter V, the sensitivity of findings to major assumptions is tested. Further details concerning the analysis are provided in four supporting appendices (A-D).
