Democratization of Eastern Europe.

摘要

There are many experts who claimed that the democratization process in Eastern Europe was inevitable and that the events of the past forty years were a prelude to events as they unfolded in 1989. This study focuses on the development of Communism throughout Eastern Europe, the development of the Warsaw Pact as the buffer zone of the Soviet Union, the challenges to Communist control of the Warsaw Pact nations and their struggles for freedom during the past 40 years, how the democratization process occurred and the reasons why and assesses the future ramifications of Eastern Europe without Communism.
