GCSEs are intended to be two-year coursesthat students begin in Year 10, so this is quite someachievement. Indeed, in educational terms, it couldbe compared to the 1989 announcement by Mar-tin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons that they hadachieved nuclear fusion in laboratory glassware.
