PERKINS PLANS FOR AN ALTERNATIVE-FUEL FUTURE

Perkins has released details of its new 1 3 L 2606 engine, plus plans for a series of new alternative-fuel engines. Following on from the unveiling of a series of new engines as well as a 48-, 300- and 600-volt range of lithiumion battery packs at the ConExpo-Con/Agg trade show in March 2023, Perkins Engines has revealed more details about the company's future areas of technical development. In addition to the introduction of all-new, more fuel-efficient engines that will offer stronger sustainability credentials, the company plans to invest in new battery technologies and hybrid powertrains. Additionally, there are plans to start a new development program for engines intended to use alternative fuels: ethanol, methanol, biomethane and hydrogen. POWER-DENSE SOLUTION.
