Al WEIWEI: SUNFLOWER SEEDS

We think of Australia as open expanses of land; we think of the US as a continuous shopping mall; but when we think of China, it is of a country overwhelmed by its own overpopulation. So it is somehow appropriate that Ai Weiwei has chosen to show one hundred million individually created porcelain sunflower seeds in the Tate Modern Turbine Hall.
