摘要

The thermofriction cutting (TFC) process is one of the highly productive machining methods, in which preheating of the cutting zone is performed by a steel disc that is in contact with the workpiece and rotates at 50 to 60 rpm. As a result of the heating of the metal in the deformation zone to 1000℃ or more, its resistance to cutting decreases significantly - and the cutting force does not exceed 1000 N. The drawbacks of the TFC process are: the poor quality of the machined surface (roughnessR{sub}z = 60-80 μm); the formation of buildups around the perimeter of the part; and the deforming of the surface layer of the part to a depth of 0.6 mm [1].
